My Speech

My Speech

England crisis

Hi

It is me again.

Today I am going to discuss the crisis going on in my home country, which is England.  As you all know or should know, there is a bank crisis discussed as the economic downturn, which is when the economic climate changes.  For example the English pound (pounds sterling), last year was equal to $15 Hong Kong dollars, now it is down to as low as $10-$11.  This dilemma is, or was really badly effecting English as other countries banks.  But luckily now the  trading market is regaining to the original balance gradually.

Gaza at stake

Hi

in this post I will tell you a little git about the war going on in Gaza.  At the moment in Gaza the people of Israel are attacking Gaza, after the Palestinians fired many continuous rockets across to Israel, to show that they are annoyed with the stretch of land they have been given to live in.  So the Israelis are invading firing heavy attacks from bombs to war planes and tanks.  But the Israelis have allowed three hours cease fire, for the localises of Gaza to go and see there wounded family at hospital, or to take them to hospital.  But some of the people in Gaza are disagreeing with that decision, and saying that is is not long enough time, because you need to travel for a couple of hours to get to the hospital, and there is always the chance that it has been shelled, or has no more room for any patients.  But at the moment the Israeli are leaving Gaza under strict commands, that if they fire anymore rockets they will be straight back.  Unfortunately the people of Gaza are passionate, about reclaiming land, so the far might be back on again quickly

My holiday

Hi this is me again

Now that we are back at school, teachers tell us to get our working head on and that the holidays are over, but in this blog post I will reflect of course in detail on my holiday.  For this Christmas holiday my family and I have been staying local.  Throughout most of my Christmas holiday, I have been on a football camp, for when my mum was in England, my dad was is Venice and my brother had not broken up for his holiday.  The camp was from 10:00am till 1:00pm, the camp had a range of different ages, ranging from four right up to12 years of age.  Amongst the children there I was one of the oldest there.  Each day was set out with the same structure, two hours of skill moves and tricks and an hour of matches, also each day had a different theme, like the first day was based on Brazil, the second was based on England, then Scotland, Germany and Holland.

for the most part after the football camp, we hung around with friends playing truth or dare and tag.  Also for boxing day, Christmas day and new years eve Austin, James , Amanda, Andrew and I played rugby on the beach.  Unfortunately for me I still had to do mandarin lessons during the holidays.  But the good thing was that I got lots of good presents such as a new ipod nano, a Nerf gun, shirts and money.  I really enjoyed the holidays, but I thing it went quickly, I didn’t think that the holidays went so quickly during the holidays though.

 Camp review

On the Monday evening of the 17 November at 7:15, our plane touched down in Guilin.  After a two and a half hour an bus ride we arrived at then hotel in the heart of Yangshou,it was called the paradesa hotel.  As we arrived on two separate buss es, Mrs Crawford delivered a speech to the whole of the year sixes, about the edicate expected from us, then we were paired up with our room mates, after that we collected our room keys.  as we got into our rooms we inspected our rooms,  I thought that the rooms were nice with new bottles of waters each day.  After inspecting the rooms, I unpacked my suitcases I washed up and hit the bed.  I was soo tired because I woke up at four in the morning and as we arrived it was around 11:30 pm.
The next morning I was woken by a call from the the tour guide Emily.

The van tour

That day we set off on a van tour.  It took two hours, taking us round the strangely formed hills, The views from the van were amazing.  We saw marshlands, plots of land with food growing goods and loyalists collecting the fruits of the trees.  It was exciting watching the loyalists live, and watching them growing their foods.  I personally thought that it was quite sad watching people carrying their children around in weaved baskets. n Still they showed no sign of hardship just led their lives and looked to be enjoying it.  The van tour provided us with beautiful views and scenery.

The hoping school visit

The next day we set off to visit the hoping school, a poor school we were giving presents to either the toys we no longer used or ones we bought.  During the bus ride to get to the school, I thought that the children would be shy and unwilling to accept the presents we offered.  But it soon proved that after Mr mac’s speech that I was wrong.  I brought 250 western union bags and 90 pens, all from my dad’s company, to give to the students.  So as I started giving them out, they all swarmed in like a pack of vultures savaging in for food, but only the food was the presents.
The facilities were very poor at the school, the rooms were covered in mud, with dirt stains on the walls, there was also a bad stench that flowed through the building.

The Reed Flute caves

As the twenty minute bus ride came to a halt the next morning, all of my friends and i jumped out of the bus and viewed the spectacular scenery of the Reed Flute caves.  I really enjoyed specifying the various stalagmites and stalagatights and how they had formed.  I also liked having to use our own imagination to notice the different animals and things they could be, also noticing the features and textures.  If they were rough smooth shiny dull.  Another thing I enjoyed was the constructor’s imagination, by how they put signs up next to things that they thought carried a distinctive feature or looked realistic.  Like the lions greeting us into the cave, with the little cubs playing on the hill, so you needed to use you imagination to perceive where they were.

Moon hill

During the wait for Mr Mac’s speech to end, about the health and safety required during climbing the hill, my friends and I decided that we would race up after Mr Loran, and not dawdle.
As the race commenced I raced up as fast as I could, but the air was thin and and the steps were steep so we lost our breath quickly.  So we were lucky that the hill was just steep not too long.  Luckily I has one of the first up the hill, so I had a while to catch my breath back, and get my heart beet back down, also just to enjoy the spectacular scenery of Guilin.  At the summit of the hill you could see as much of Guilin as the eye would allow.  So you could see all of the farms, marsh lands and oddly shaped hills. the hill had it’s name given because of the moon shaped hole at the top of the hill.

My day

Hi

This is me again, and I will post a blog about my day. Today at 6:45 I got a bus from our shool to the Hong Kong football club stadium to play an international rugby youth tournament, not a school rugby tournament, this meant that we missed a day off school. There were teams joining us from Singapore and Malaysia, this was my first competitive tournament against another country. The club I play for is called discovery bay pirates, and we had six games, as we where on our last game to win the bowel, the score is 3-1 to us. Dragging on through the 12 of the 15 minutes, the kukris our rivals score another try. On to the last three minutes, one of the kukris makes a brake, but as he runs, a teammate (James) runs and meets him from the side and pounds him over the sideline. As the penalty is called, we form a strong formation to defend our try line. When the siren are blown, the game is carrying on, another penalty is rewarded to the opposition, as the ball is passed out a girl named Clair (aka:Bigfoot, 5.5 foot tall) runs at us, the ball is passed to her and then our biggest player Elias takes her down. Then the whistle is blown for the end of the match . We come off the pitch battered and bruised but at least we won the bowel.

Our wetland trip

                                        Our wetlands trip

On wednesday 8th october all of the year 6s at our school, went to visit the wetlands park and learnt all about a wetland habitat and how the animals have to change in order to live in this type of habitat. The park is filled with marshes and fish ponds which lie just outside urban centres. Along the coast, you will find meandering shores, dense mangrove beds and extensive mudflats.  With quite a few rare and unique species, such as the Romer’s Tree Frog which is unique to Hong Kong.

We learnt about the animals and how they adjust and live.  One of the animals we saw was the golden apple snail, witch is named after it’s size because it can grow up to the size of an apple.  When they are eggs they are a purple and pink colour witch hang on to plants.  we also saw some snakes slithering through the water.  Our tour guides name was Angel and she told us how the animals bodys are formed to survive in their homes, such as the the frogs witch have a smooth surface to allow water and plants to run over it’s surface, and bcksig suction pads on their fingers to allow them to hang on to the ro  Another thing we learnt was how tell the difference from a da

My story

                                          Africa story

“STOP” I beg you don’t take him,

”why do you want him?” these where my exact words.
It was too late together the Taliban and my dad left through the misty night. I was wiping the tears away from my eyes, it was still difficult to understand why they had taken my dad away .  I would not rest my thoughts on why they had captured my dad.  He was peaceful and would never do something to offend anyone, even the fearsome, emotionless Taliban solders.
It was that morning it was when I realised that there where some fights at work reported ,he must of been caught up in all of this.
My sister Shosham tried to reassure me like my mother would of done if she was still alive, But I was having none of it .  She said it was a misunderstanding and dad would be back within a day or two.  But you could see even in her eyes that she was worried and that our  dad would not return.

That afternoon we realised it is not worth sulking for it was the second family member we had lost.  Last time we  sat around being sympathetic they lost all interest in work and we lost money rapidly.
It was then it was my turn to insure Sosham that it was going to be alright, She was wiping constant tears from her  eyes trying to stay strong and not act like a baby, to me .  Concerning that we spent most of our time alone together I could tell we would survive,  with our dad working long hours we didn’t see him much so difference not having him there anyway.  but we still already missed him.
It was a murky morning when I planned out our our entry and escape routes we set off with torch and map in hand it was a few miles to the nearest jail.   The path in front of our feet cleared thought the day, we had packed all we needed a survival kit ,first aid box and a few snacks, these had taken up all of our savings to buy.
There was a paralyzing feeling as I spotted the jail, it  was more heavily guarded than we expected.  It was then I heard a siren alert ,we must of set off the alarm within a few hundred yards of the building.   I stopped and my bones froze  in fear as bullets darted towards us narrowing down our path.  We turned and ran, but there where heavier bullets missing by inches it would of been our last memory of our wonderful childhood until a tug forced us into a nearby bush.

As I looked up to see if life was still around, there I froze in horror when I saw the Taliban army kit, it was a few minutes till I slowly merged. I looked up and saw a boy with a pale sheet white face, I was in moments of shock  as Shosham explained to the boy what we had come for, he silenced us and pulled out a map from his chest pocket. whispered something,it was that he knew a safe entrance into the prison, he explained it was risky but possible.  He pulled a map from his pocket and handed it to me.  We followed him quietly through the back entrance through a tunnel, we saw a guard the boy walked to distract him while we ran back to the cell rooms to look for our dad.  The boy came back with the keys to all the cells.  He explained that he had knocked the guard out.  It didn’t take long to find the right cell because all of them were empty but one that low groaning noises coming from it .  It wasn’t long before guards where coming from all directions we could hear them, they were charging at us with bats they started hitting us the mysterious boy ran and shortly came back striking the guards with an axe.  He said that his life was not worth living so he would stay back to fend off the guards without another word he ran back we found the cell room and unlocked the door we were relived to see our dad he was choking but fine.  We did not stop to chat we just broke into a short run.  Until we were stopped by a row of guards.

The boy returned and fought most of them off but there was a loud explosive noise as he fell to the ground.  We we’re all on our own a couple of starved rags we had no chance, as it showed as they knocked us on the ground a beat us with bats and sticks.  The guards through us in a cell we stayed there all night and through some of the morning until a voice I remembered spoke.  It was the boy that had helped us, he said he made a brake as we were getting beaten.  He had taken bullets to the chest, but he still had the keys ,he let us out and said that they would never meet again for his dad would have him exacted by sun down tomorrow.  We offered to let him stay at our house, he would not, he said that it would just be putting more worthy lives at risk.  He handed us a few gold pennies and told us to leave the country so they could be safe.  As we left the building we noticed the name at the bottom of the sheet it read, Tyro.  We chanted if you can hear me thanks Tyro you are our hero.

Five years later we got a new mother and had a new baby brother we named him Tyro after the boy that saved our life.

hi this me enonoumous again

This is not another happy jolly subject about frairies, this is serious world news.  Don’t leave this page because it is not the type with all fun and games this is worth knowing if you haven’t watched the news or read the paper.  If you are into current affairs don’t worry you can learn from this post.  my post is on the poor and unfortunate in Africa, who have been running from home to somewhere safe with no food or drink.  i think this is a discrace and I hope you do too, i think wde shoulod all be treated the same way, if this means us all being poor and unhealthy then so be it but this not a fair way of them living.  just guess what their live expectancy is , you are probaly wrong.  The life expectancy in some parts of africa is as low as 35 years of age.  most parents won’t even be alive when the child is 10 just imagine finding your own way to live struggaling to survive.   In your town if possable make a donation by baking cookies and selling them, or just send envelopes around asking for donations.
